What you can expect

Your activity starts at the Acropolis Museum, where you'll have a chance to learn about the architecture and the construction of this outstanding museum, rated among the top ten museums in the world. You'll also find out about Classical Athens during its Golden Age and the social, political and philosophical factors that led to Athens becoming a superpower, and you'll view one of the great cultural treasures in the world, the Parthenon Marbles.

After the visit to the museum, you'll have the chance to explore the charming district of Plaka, the city's oldest neighborhood, and take part in two super fun activities based on the comedies of Aristophanes. The works of this great playwright, which deal with issues of governmental power, civic responsibility and human nature are more relevant than ever, considering the current social and economic situation, not only in Athens but on a global level.

These activities take place in corners of Plaka far from the beaten path, where you a professional storyteller will give a short performance based on the comedies of Aristophanes. Then you will be split in teams to work together – and against each other - to complete tasks inspired by these wonderful ancient stories. The quickest and most imaginative team will be the winner!

In the end, you'll have gained a greater understanding of the principles and lifestyle of Ancient Greece in an interactive, educational and thoroughly enjoyable manner!
